Before you choose an installation type, remember that if you would like to try out Red Hat Linux without repartitioning your existing system, and your system as a FAT (DOS/Windows) partition with sufficient free space, you can perform a partitionless installation. This method is perfect for people who are new to Linux, and who would like to try Red Hat Linux with a minimum of disruption to their computer. To learn more about this method, refer to Appendix B. |
Choose whether you would like to perform a full installation or an upgrade (see Figure 4-4).
Red Hat Linux allows you to choose the installation type that best fits your needs. Your options are Workstation, Server, Laptop, Custom, or Upgrade.
