Axel Thiel, RIP

I just learned that Axel Thiel died unexpectedly June 20, 2006, at age 60. Axel was one of the world's most dedicated graffiti researchers and archivists.

The link has a guestbook, so you can pay respect. It's in German, but here's what you need to know:

- Scroll all the way down and go to the "Neuer Eintrag" link on the bottom right of the guestbook page.

- Fill in the fields with the *

- Be sure to type the letters you see in the graphic into the bottom form field to prove you are human. I had to do it twice.

I'm not sure what will happen to his archive in Kassel, Germany, but I hope a library gets it so it can be accessed in the future by scholars.
