C-Kermit 7.0 Beta.10 is installed at:

and is ready for testing.  Here is what's new:

Version number:
 . Edit number bumped from 195 to 196.

Character sets:
 . Unicode / ISO-10646 UCS-2 and UTF-8 added as file and transfer charsets.
 . UTF-8 added as terminal charset.
 . The TRANSLATE and TRANSMIT commands can now handle UTF-8 and UCS-2.
 . COPY /SWAP-BYTES to fix byte-swapped UCS-2 files.

File Transfer:
 . Spurious failure hints after deliberate interruption removed.
 . Minor improvements to SHOW PROTOCOL.

Scripting:
 . COPY /APPEND <sourcefile> <destfile>
 . \v(protocol) variable fixed.
 . \v(user) variable improved for Unix (works with su, etc).
 . FORWARD command fixed (didn't work if it was the last command in a block).
 . Configured-out commands now parse & fail rather than causing a parse error.
 . HELP FUNCTION corrections.

IKSD:
 . Numerous small fixes.

Networks:
 . SHOW NET now shows all IP addresses of local host.

Modems:
 . Compaq DC OFF command fixed.
 . Default tone-dialing countries list expanded.

VMS:
 . LABELED-mode transfers fixed.
 . Sources & build procedure updated for pre-5.0 VMS.

Builds:
 . linuxnc target fixed.
 . irix64gcc target added.
 . uw7iksdudk target added for Unixware7 with UDK installed (libs differ).
 . Kerberos for AIX 4.1.
 . Various warnings squelched.
