Date: Nov/18/94 Solaris Release: SunOS Release: Unbundled Product: PC-NFS Unbundled Release: 5.0 Relevant Architectures: PC BugId's fixed with this patch: 1166641 Changes incorporated in this version: Patches accumulated and obsoleted by this patch: Patches which conflict with this patch: Patches required with this patch: Obsoleted by: 5.1a Files included with this patch: NET.EXE Problem Description: PC-NFS "NET USE /MS" command fails on 4.1.3 systems with the libc patch installed. The 4.1.3 and 4.1.3_U1 libc patches (100890, 100891, 101558 101759) put the portmapper in silent mode. This prevents PC-NFS from finding the network lock manager. NET PCNFSD and NET USE LPT#: commands take up to 2 minutes to complete with the libc patches installed. Patch Installation Instructions: This patch will allow you to use the PC-NFS "NET USE /MS" command to mount drives with the libc patch installed, but mounting shared drives from the Windows file manager will still not work. This patch consists of one file: NET.EXE. On the system where PC-NFS is installed save the existing NET.EXE file and replace it with the new NET.EXE file. Select the drive where PC-NFS is installed. C: Save the original NET.EXE file. COPY \NFS\NET.EXE \NFS\NET.FCS Install the new NET.EXE file in the NFS directory. COPY A:\NET.EXE \NFS\NET.EXE All drive letter and directory name references are PC-NFS defaults. If you have installed PC-NFS or the patch file on a different drive, or in a different directory, substitute your drive and directory names in the example commands.
