Bug# 1089420 Site has Prestoserve, 64MB ram, one 2*Proc Ross, TRI/S, usual SCSI devices, plus 4*1.3GB IPI, and 2*1.2GB 3MB/sec IPI drives.. Sybase applications. Token Ring is the Customer's only network, is running a ring of PC's via NFS. Event sequence 1/ Token ring network I/F failure, PCs could no longer ping server, but could ping each other. Server could not ping PCs. 2/ Admin ifconfig'd pr0 down. NFS reported loss of contact 3/ Admin then ifconfig'd pr0 up, this paniced the system. Bug# 1076386 When a sna3270 gateway is running on TR/I, when sna3274 gateway is brought up, the console display "tr0: out of mbufs - dropped packets" every 1-3 seconds. Both system and sna3270 gateway seem to be running fine. This bug also applies to the snap2p gateway. Other problems fixed: 1) receive congestion 2) functional address capability INSTALL: Use the appropriate files according to your system's OS and architecture. For example, if 4.1.2 on sun4c, use the patch files located in 4.1.2/sun4c Backup all original files before copying over the patch files onto them. Copy the appropriate .o into /sys/ARCH/OBJ where ARCH is either sun4c or sun4m Copy the appropriate tr_conf.c and if_trvar.h into /sys/sunif cd to /sys/ARCH/TOKEN where ARCH is either sun4c or sun4m and TOKEN is the directory where the previous kernel was made with token ring. Perform a make to create the new kernel. Please Refer to the System and Networking Administration Manual section on building and installing a kernel. Reboot using the new kernel.
