Any other special or non-generic installation instructions should be described below as special instructions. Special Install Instructions: ----------------------------- This patch provides the NVSRAM file needed for completing the upgrade of an A3000 to A3500FC. See Sun StorEdge A3500FC Controller Upgrade Guide, PN 806-0479-11. NVSRAM Update: Once this patch with the NVSRAM file is loaded on the host system, the user must manually update the NVSRAM on the A3000 controller found on each subsystem. This process involves using the RAID Manager application (started by running /usr/lib/osa/bin/rm6). When prompted for the name of the firmware file to use for the controller download, the following firmware file should be specified: 39782DN.DL This file will be found in /usr/lib/osa/fw after this patch has been installed. For further details on updating the StorEdge A3x00 controller, refer to the RAID Manager User's Guide and the Sun StorEdge A3500FC Controller Upgrade Guide. After downloading the new NVSRAM file into every A3x00, then each controller must be power-cycled to activate the new NVSRAM. Rebooting the host computer is not sufficient nor recommended. Note the module profile should now show StorEdgeA3500FCr for the ProductID.
