ABOUT PAN

   This is the sixth beta of Pan for Windows.

   It's probably not ready for regular use yet, but many
   people have reported that they're using it daily.
   Feedback and bug reports are encouraged.

   This beta's code base is equivalent of Pan 0.13.4.
   The latest news and versions of Pan can always be found at
   <http://pan.rebelbase.com/>.

PREREQUISITES

   Pan requires the GTK 2.2 Runtime Environment to be installed.
   Todd Kulesza's GTK2 installer can be found at
   <http://www.dropline.net/gtk/>

CHANGES SINCE BETA 5

   * this version is built from the Pan 0.13.4 codebase, see
     http://pan.rebelbase.com/download/releases/0.13.4/ANNOUNCE.html
   * GTK 2.2.1 has been released since beta 5, so upgrading the GTK
     Runtime Environment before Pan is recommended.

CHANGES SINCE BETA 4

   * setup.exe no longer asks to reboot after installing Pan.
   * Install-time checking for GTK 2.2 Runtime registry keys.
   * Removed the flood of debug messages in the console window.
     The console will appear only when warnings or errors are
     logged.

CHANGES SINCE BETA 3

   * Added a possible fix to the previous betas' lock-on-startup problems
   * Added icon for the desktop shortcut
   * Uninstall now removes the ".pan" directory

CHANGES SINCE BETA 2

   * Added some debugging code to try to locate the source of
     the startup lockup being reported by Win2K and XP users.
   * Added the console window back in so that users can report
     on debugging messages as they fly by.

CHANGES SINCE BETA 1

   If you tried beta 1, you must uninstall the GTK 2.0 runtime
   and Pan beta 1 before installing this software.
