Introduction
BeOSBounce is a program for graphically demonstrating the distribution of BMessages between BeOS systems via BMorb.
BMorb Version 1.2 runs under Release 4.5 of the BeOS, on both PowerPC and Intel platforms, and supports sending BMessages between any combination of platforms.
BeOSBounce runs under Release 4.5 of the BeOS, on both PowerPC and Intel platforms, and supports sending a bouncy ball between any combination of platforms.
How To Get BeOSBounce
You can download BeOSBounce by clicking on this button, or, if it isn't yet available there, send me E-mail.
How To Run BeOSBounce
Install BMorb and BeOSBounce on two systems running the BeOS.
Start BMorb's daemon, bmorbd, on both systems.
Change the BMessageProtocol file used by BeOSBounce, BMORBDemo/BB_HELLO, on both systems: Let's say your systems are known as "homer" and "jethro". On "homer", change the ServerNode attribute to be "jethro". On "jethro", change it to be "homer".
Start BeOSBounce on one of the systems. In the little window that asserts that this is the first BeOSBounce to be started, make sure that the checkbox is checked, then click the Go! button. Move the window with the bouncing ball so that it's well away from where it first appeared.
Start BeOSBounce on the other system. Make sure that the checkbox is *not* checked and then click on its Go! button. That's all there is to it!
