This is a sample page which links to iodbc

For all questions and comments, please email bjepson@conan.ids.net

This page has been updated to include support for template files. These are much more secure (and flexible!!!) than the embedded SQL. See the template example below...

Note that this distribution includes Lee Fesperman's iodbc.exe, which is in beta right now. For more info, see iodbc.002. Please send all bug reports and other support requests to me (Brian Jepson) at the above address. I will be fielding all support issues for both iodbc and the perl scripts for now...

Installation notes

  1. Make sure that you unzip this into your https data directory (alternatively, you can point https at the directory you unzip it into...)
  2. Unzip the distribution into a directory using the -d switch.
  3. Make sure that you have Windows NT perl 5 installed and in the system path.
  4. Use the 32-bit ODBC Administrator to install a FoxPro 2.6 data source called "IODBC SAMPLE." It should require a specific directory (the dbf directory under wherever you installed the distribution); do not check the Use Current Directory checkbox.
  5. Make sure that you are using https version 0.99
  6. Under the control panel services applet, make sure that https logs in as a user who has the datasource "IODBC SAMPLE" defined; otherwise, https will not be able to connect to the datasource. Alternatively, if you are using the newer version of the ODBC Administrator, you can install a System DSN. This is the preferred approach.
