Tue Mar 17 23:05:26 EST 1998 -- Greg A. Woods There are locally generated releases of various products in this directory. These are usually identified by the "-vNN" suffix to the file basename. Sometimes they'll have a "-PLANIX.*" or similar suffix instead. The version number of the base product release is given before the local release name. Locally generated patches for various products are labeled with the filename extension ".Patch", and are usually shell archive files with both a ChangeLog and a context diff enclosed. There may also be a related ".README" file. If you find problems with these patches please contact me, *not* the original package authors!!! If you are looking for Smail, well it's in ../Smail, not here. What's left is locally written: * tapestuff.shar - some scripts to assist copying multi-file tapes * fingerd - this is a very much enhanced version of Mike Shanzer's fingerd. * newsyslog - this is a very mich enhanced version of the C version originally written by Theodore Ts'o, and which is in most of the new *BSDs. This one is better yet than even FreeBSD's version! * uutraf-2.0.1.tar.gz - UUCP traffic analysis (needs 'head' and 'dlst' below) * head-1.0.1.tar.gz - some header files that assist authoring of portable C code... WARNING: This is really old -- use GNU Autoconf for new projects! * dlst-2.0.1.tar.gz - this is an attempt at an object-oriented ("dynamic") library for managing list-like data structures, written in C. Requires "head".
