Gasgano User Preferences
Preferences are stored in a file called .gasganorc located in the home
directory of the user.
The preferences file is in ASCII format and can be easily edited with a text editor, should the
need arise.
The Preferences panel is called from the File menu on the Menu bar.
If no preference file is found, standard default values are taken and used to create a new .gasganorc file.
When clicking on the OK button in the preferences panel all new
settings will be accepted and written on the preferences
file. Clicking Cancel will restore previous values.
Notice that accepting the preferences might trigger a re-scanning
of all directories in memory, or require unloading of all files in memory. Certain settings require that the application be re-started. If this is required, you will be notified when OK is pressed.
The preferences are divided into three tab panes:
- the "Data" sub panel, which includes
the directories loaded automatically at start-up, the location of the
script and keyword-lists directories and the location of the rules and filter file.
Values starting with "./", will be interpreted as relative to the directory
the application was started from. Values starting with "/" will be interpreted
as absolute. In all other cases they will be considered as relative to the user's
home directory.
Also included is the automatic file system refresh option,
and the verbose level to turn on logging to stdout.
- the "File Display and Grouping" sub panel includes controls to list of header keywords displayed in the Navigation Panel, the format for the display
of RA/DEC and the filenames themselves, controls for enabling/disabling reading fits extensions, and the Instrument Specific Grouping rules. The Instrument Specific Grouping rules must contain an instrument name in the first column, and a set of fits keywords, separated by ';' in the second column. The same panel contains the names of
the external viewers to be used to show the frames. The font and orientation for printing
reports are also set here.
-
the "Recipe Configuration" panel is used to define the set of CPL recipes that are available under the "Selected Files"->"To Recipe" menu. Modification of the recipe set on this panel requires Gasgano to restart for the changes take effect.
