We should kill that concept, because it isn't true.  Traditional X
servers and SVGAlib get confused whenever the card isn't in standard VGA
text mode.  It doesn't work here either.  Same problem happens with
vesafb/fbcon too.  Nothing (realistic) we can do about it :-(
