Ok, multisync gave better results. I hadn't really been paying
complete attention to the generic monitor driver discussion.. I
just got the impression that I should start using it. Now that
you mention setmon, I'll figure out how to use it and see if it
lets me do the higher resolutions too.
On another topic, I previously described the problem I'm having
where the first column of text is on the other side of the monitor,
and I vaguely recall someone mentioning that that's how it looks
before the con2fbmap. I recently noticed that the con2fbmap is
failing for me (EINVAL from the first ioctl). I'm going to look
through the sources to see if I can figure out why this is, but
does anyone know offhand what would cause this?
