I imagine it's a huge turn-off to interested parties to look at the
website in its current state.  The "what's new" stuff is seldom new and
the "daily news and updates" has only ever had two entries, and is now
completely broken.  It makes it look like an abandoned project.

Also, when was the last time the "who's who and things todo" page got
any attention?  It looks like it's been six months.
