kgicon error..

I keep getting the error kgicon: Cannot find any usable video mode

And that error occurs whatever driver combination I am trying to use
(varying between complete VGA and complete S3 ViRGE setup). It does create
a slight problem for me, since it is hard testing the new clock driver
when I can't get kgicon up and running :(

Ideas?
