This says, that it can neither access the KGI interface, nor can it go via
SVGAlib.

How is your system set up ?

KGI ("Right-thing-to-do" at bootup),
KGICON (you will know, if you enabled this in kernel config),
a working SVGAlib or
X running

?

KGI seems not to be loaded, from what I can see from your strace post.
