Marcus just recently uploaded the first working version of the X libraries
for the Hurd. As soon as I have time, I'm going to build libGGI .debs and
upload them; this should be fairly simple. However, KGI is the real thing we
Hurd people are most interested in.
I've taken a look at the GNUMach code, and hmm, it seems to me that
this does *not* belong in mach, but should be implemented as a Hurd. This,
needless to say, will not be easy. It'll end up being similar to suidkgi,
but designed for compatibility ith KGI 0.9.
I've examined some possible ways to go about this, but really, low
level code gives me the heebie jeebies. KGI would be a great addition to the
Hurd, especially if we could get it implemented before people spent an
enormous amount of time porting other display libraries (like X,
svgalib...).
