on input errors and mice

oh - sorry 'bout that empty message... wanted to cancel and .. .didn't...

it's gpm.
when select times out waiting on the pipe it errors out with resource
temporarily not available (error message posted before).

This does -not- happen when a device is dealt with explicitly.  only when
piped through gpm on really small select() timeouts (say, 1000 uS)

If that helps any?

It's easy enough to fix (I suppose) but it can be irritating as it -is- a
spurious error -in this case-.
