oops . sorry about this, typo. didn't use all caps on GGI_DEBUG. Anyway, the
point I was going to make is that GGI sends no debugging info. here's the
correct commandline and its output:

 ..~/src/debian/ggi/990212/libgii-990212/debian/tmp/usr/lib$ GGI_DEBUG=255
mhub
LibGII:: Debugging=255
mhub: unable to open default GII input
