Fortunately, you only need to let userspace give instructions of which
registers to do what to. All you'd end up releasing is details of
initialisation, mode setting, some 2D, and which registers cannot be
safely played with.

This may be some comfort to chip producers (I hope). But still, no - I
wouldn't count on it :(

Even if you can't get KGI driver source release (especially if?), I know
you'll do us proud :)
