No, odd.  I guess kgicon should clear the screen after setting a mode.

Yeah fbcon doesn't handle KD_GRAPHICS mode properly yet, so it happily
writes to the screen.

Contains the last graphical junk ?  Again, fbcon should notice the
change from KD_TEXT -> KD_GRAPHICS and redraw the screen.
