kgicon problem

Hello,

Yesterday I tried to use kgicon.

I think I configured my 2.1.115 kernel correctly, selecting
vga fb and vesa fb (using menuconfig), I did not select the vga console.

I then compiled the devel snapshot of degas dated 980808 with everything
set to std vga, and an svga monosync monitor (I thought that with these
settings, I should be on the safe side).

However, when I insmodded kgicon.o (using the insert script), the
system froze, showing vertical grey bars with some coloured dots in the
upper half. Did I make a mistake or is vga-kgicon, or the kernel,
still buggy? I had the dali vga driver running, some time earlier!

If further information is necessary, I will try to provide it.
