	No, we are still making drivers.  But now we are using the kgicon
system, which lets us use KGI drivers as fbcon drivers.

	No idea.

	It is unlikely that we will go back to using KGI (= a replacement
for fbdev) before Degas is released, since we can do acceleration with
kgicon and the fbdev target.

	We have more motivation now than in quite some time, IMHO.  A lot
of real progress has been made over the last several months.  But
fbcon/fbdev is the standard Linux framebuffer device system and
framebuffer console, and we have to work with it for now.  It is actually
quite useable, although there are KGI features that I miss.  But KGI is
definitely on the back burner right now.
