I honestly can't remember, except that system.h needed modifying to
ignore the xxx_claim_region & xxx_check_region functions, and there was
a need to have userspace PCI code.

I don't think the driver API changed, suidkgi was just in the same boat
as kgicon is now: having no external KGI stuff (like the dummy functions
kgi_set_origin, kgi_set_split, kgi_default_font ETC that are in
fbcon-kgi.c).
