Yes. Indeed I'd like to see a database and at least PCI probing:
- 5510 chipset detected => always these dependencies
(acclerator/ramdac/etc)
- S3 chipset: a wider variety of dependencies
Finally it would be good if we could crossreference the name of the
user's
board with the relevant chipset and build up a database of possibilities
(Xfree86's list would be a good starting point)

Surely to do that you'd need GGI up and running already -- which itwon't
