My original 2.2.5 works, and this is what I get:

kernel: PS/2 auxiliary device emulation driver
kernel: console.c:console_output_init:1681: console printk driver registered.
kernel: kbd-i386.c:aux_init_devices:906: unknown signature fffffe from ptr
kernel: Trying to free free IRQ12
kernel: kbd-i386.c:aux_init_devices:922: pointer port probed.
kernel: kbd-i386.c:aux_init_devices:946: keyboard detected on aux_kbd port
kernel: kbd-i386.c:aux_init_devices:977: keyboard port probed.
kernel: 1 keyboards detected
kernel: console.c:console_input_init:1690: initializing console input...
kernel: kii.c:kii_map_device:659: assertion f->focus == NULL failed.

And my keyboard is totally frozen, not even a capslock LED.

The MDA seems to work as I get a login banner over there.
