KGIcon and Millenium II AGP

Hi!

I have a Matrox Millenium II AGP and a little problem with KGIcon: the
configure prog detects the chipset etc. correctly and KGIcon compiles without
errors, but when I insert kgicon.o the monitor becomes black and the system
hangs.
I have enabled the framebuffer options in the kernel config (version 2.2.5) and
cat /proc/fb indicates that there is a framebuffer device running.
Any hints?
