This add-on automatically calls gzip or gunzip, depending on the filename.
Its features are:
- it handles ".gz", ".tgz" and also ".Z"
- it works for a selection of files
* it IS multithreaded :-) i.e. when it has to process a selection of files,
  it processes them simultaneously.
