Short: Allows switching DSack/BERR on A4000 Author: lynxx@uni.de (Holger.Hippenstiel.org) Uploader: lynxx uni de (Holger Hippenstiel org) Type: dev/debug Architecture: m68k-amigaos BERM V1.01 =========== This tool allows to switch to DSack/BERR (Bus-Error-mode) on a A4000. The default for 030 ist DSack, for 040/060 BERR. It's a kind of minimal "Enforcer", because the A4000-Hardware can regconize access to illegal memory. In DSack-Mode all illeal access are simply terminated, delaying for 170µs. In BERR-Mode an "Illegal Exception" will be called, if there is no Error-Handler your System will hang for ~1 second. Usage: BERM [o|c] ;default ist DSACK-Mode If option "o" is given BERR-Mode is selected If option "c" is ONLY Bus-Status will be printed. No changes are made. Example: 1> BERM c BERM: Bus TIMED OUT ! (DANGER) This means any programm wrote to a memory-location that does not exist. ============================= Archive contents ============================= Original Packed Ratio Date Time Name -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- ------------- 528 405 23.2% 03-Dec-01 15:09:32 BERM 694 386 44.3% 03-Dec-01 18:15:08 readme.txt -------- ------- ----- --------- -------- 1222 791 35.2% 03-Dec-01 18:19:58 2 files
